Contributors cannot share their piece outside of the Discord server until the mods permit it after the zine release.

Contributors are expected to communicate regularly with mods.

Participants that miss two check-ins without any active communication with the mods will be removed from the project.

Contributors may be removed from the project at any time for breaking the guidelines outlined above or for engaging in harmful behavior.

This includes, but is not limited to: plagiarism, harassment, racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, name-calling, slurs, or other hateful rhetoric.

Contributors engaging in harmful behavior outside of the project or found to be using AI in their pieces will also be removed.

Contributors will retain full rights to their work and are free to edit, resell, or redistribute their pieces after the project's conclusion.

Sonic-related samples are highly encouraged, but not required

Similarily, space-themed samples are highly encouraged, but not required

Your portfolio and samples are easily accessible with no boundaries

Double check that all submitted links are correct and active prior to submitting your application

Google Drive links are preferred, but other portfolio sites—such as Carrd—are acceptable

If you use a social media platform in place of your portfolio, your finished pieces should be easy to find, such as through a dedicated blog or tag

Make sure your samples are not restricted—i.e. on a private account, behind a paywall, etc.—double check all privacy settings before submitting your application!

For Google Drive: Open them in a private tab to check anyone with the link can view it

Do not use Discord to host image links. These links only have a temporary domain and will only be viewable for a short period of time before becoming inaccessible

NSFW and/or gory content is properly labeled

Kept it in a separate section within your portfolio and appropriately warned in your application

Applicants are welcome to apply for more than one position!

Apply to ALL positions you are interested in via the designated forms

You will not be considered primarily for positions you do not apply to.

Keep your workload in mind if you take on additional roles during the zine

Your primary assignment, which will be given to you by the mods, will be your priority before moving onto other pieces

Applicants found to have AI content or stolen work in their application will be immediately disqualified

Samples must reflect the quality and style you intend to deliver in the zine

If you are applying as a Page Artist, at least one sample must contain an engaging & detailed background. This means a background that is not a single flat color or gradients

Samples can only be 2.5K words max each

With around 100 words as wiggle room

If you plan on writing poetry, submit poetry samples

If you plan on writing a short story, submit short story samples

Excerpts are allowed, but we advise short story samples be able to be read as a complete standalone story, with a beginning, middle, and end

Samples must include at least one clip that is 8-20 seconds long

Samples can come from the same animated video (i.e. taking three smaller parts from a 4-minute video) as long as each clip is of a different scene

At least one animation clip must be synced to audio

Chefs are expected to create at least 1 ORIGINAL recipe, fitting this zine's specs and guidelines.

The recipe is expected to fit the zine's theme in some way, for example being space-inspired, or fitting to the Sonic universe.

Your portfolio requires of at least 3 recipes, that you have created

These must be different, complete, ORIGINAL recipes that are able to be followed from beginning through to a finished product. Recipes must be your own original creations, not just recipes that you have followed from an outside source

We expect to see the following in your sample & portfolio recipes:

Prep time, cook time, and amount of servings

Ingredients list with measurements in metric

Method section with clear, easy-to-read steps

Special tools if required (e.g. blender, stand mixer, Dutch oven, etc.)

Photograph of finished product (additional photographs of complicated steps, such as folding pastry, etc., are also welcome)

In your portfolio, we expect to see at least 2 different meal-types, but more are encouraged.

Meal-types include:

breakfast

lunch

dinner

sides

dessert

drinks

etc.

For example, we would expect to see at least 2 of these types in your portfolio, such as 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner; or 1 lunch, 1 dinner, 1 dessert, etc.

Chefs may be allowed to create additional recipes for this zine upon discussion with the mod team.
